Alicia Eva

Alicia Eva was an absolute steal for Collingwood after she was taken with pick 54 in the inaugural AFLW National Draft. She was named vice-captain, finished second in the club’s Best & Fairest award, earned All-Australian honours and was awarded the inaugural Collingwood Football Club’s AFLW Players Player award.

Eva juggled her incredible debut season while being actively involved with her commentary work for Channel 7 and SEN.

Since arriving at the Giants in 2018, Eva has taken out the Gabrielle Trainor Best & Fairest award, earned her second All-Australian selection, is the current captain of the women’s side and joined the AFLW Competition Committee.

Eva is also the only female coach in the men’s competition, working as a development coach in the GWS men’s program. She is a Level 3 accredited coach and completed the Next Coach Program alongside men’s stars Scott Pendlebury, Jeremy Howe and Nathan Jones.

Eva is passionate about mental health initiatives, sitting on the board at the AFL’s official charity partner Ladder and is a member of the AFL Mental Health Steering Committee alongside mental health organisation Headspace.

She prides herself on her integrity, hard work, fairness and ability to empower others.
